Local Hoist v0.4.7

Annotate images with drawings and dictated text, listen to replies with Gemini voices, and find chats with uncommitted work. This release also adds media drag-and-drop, a stop-and-send recording action, and clearer commit reviews.

New

  • Draw, add filled shapes, and type or dictate text on images before sending them. Move, resize, recolor, or duplicate annotations, adjust text size, and undo or redo edits. Editable drafts are saved locally, with checks to prevent sending before saves and dictation finish.
  • Listen to replies with Gemini 3.8 Flash-Lite TTS or Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS using your Google API key. Choose from 30 Google voices, with voice choices remembered for each speech model.
  • Use the Dirty chat filter to find chats whose workspace branches have uncommitted changes. Branch indicators show pending work, and commit reviews include file and line totals plus links to other chats that last edited files, when recorded history is available.

Improved

  • Drag images from the Media library into a chat to attach the originals again. Use Show in chat or Open chat to jump to a media item's source message, including older messages. The image viewer also links to the source chat.
  • Click Send while recording to stop, transcribe, and send in one step. Stopping with the microphone button or keyboard still leaves the transcript for review.
  • Filter chats by ID or search across main, archived, sub-agent, and evaluation chats with Any chat. The Media library's scope options are now labeled This chat and Any chat.
  • Image previews keep stable resize limits and more even spacing. Expanding and collapsing messages, tool activity, and file changes now uses consistent animations that respect reduced-motion settings.
  • Starting a new chat now checks for app updates when eligible, at most once an hour. Update controls now appear in the activity rail.

Fixed

  • Fixed original images failing to load in the image viewer and annotation editor. Loading failures now show an error and a Retry button. Arrow-key gallery navigation also works after using annotation controls.
  • Rollback activity now shows its Undo action correctly, and rolled-back sub-agent activity no longer lingers after history refreshes.
